RCLL Rookie (T-Ball) 2022 Spring Season
First, I wanted to welcome you to Reno Continental Little League.
Here at RC, we believe in the power of youth baseball to teach
life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities, and we are
so glad you are choosing to be a part of this program with us.
My name is Dave Olsen, I am the Player Agent this season for the league.
I will be your point of contact until you are assigned to a team.
As we get closer to the start of the 2022 Spring season, we just wanted to keep you informed of the Rookie (T-Ball) league plan:
THE ROOKIE LEAGUE DOES NOT GO TO SKILLS ASSESSMENT DAY ON MARCH 5th.
There is NO Skills Assessment for Rookies!
Kids are placed on a team at random unless there are friend or coach requests that we will try and
accommodate.
Coaches will contact you by
March 15th to let you know which team your kiddo will be on this season and the schedule for the season.
Field location: Jack Tighe 325 VFW Historic Ln. Reno, NV. 89509
Practices will start on
March 19th
Field Clean-up day is Sunday March 27th
The first games will be Opening Day, Saturday
April 2nd
Season will end on Saturday June 4th.

- Baseball cleats or athletic turf shoes. Football cleats won’t be allowed.
- A protective cup for boys.
- Baseball pants or an athletic pant
Optional equipment:
- Batting Helmet
- Bat
- Batting Gloves
League Provided:
All coaches and board members at RC are volunteer positions.
The Rookie division, especially, CAN NOT function without parent
involvement. Currently we have 3 parents signed up to be coaches, but we
need more.
We will need at least 6 Managers (Head Coaches) to volunteer.
In addition, each team needs a Team / Parent Coordinator and as many assistant coaches as possible.
We understand many of you may have not coached baseball before and that's okay.
I was in the same position as you 8 years ago when my oldest son
started and now, I have coached at every level in the league. I’m so
glad I did.
We just need your time and willingness to invest into these kids.
So, what are you getting into?
Typically there will be two events each week. Practices and games will each last about 1 hour.
The
coaches meeting for the Rookie season will be on
Saturday March 12th
Time:TBA
1. We will give you your team rosters, practice, and game schedules.
2. We will go over how to run practices and rules of the game.
3. Hand out keys, equipment, and uniforms.
4. Answer any questions so the season is enjoyable and fun for all.
Please consider volunteering and help to make this league a strong supportive place for our kids to learn and grow.
Each on-field volunteer will need to complete a background check before they are allowed on the field to keep our kids safe.
It does take some time for the background check to process, so the sooner you can volunteer the better.
You can sign up to volunteer through our
website or simply email me.
