In the latest directive in a long line of directives Gov. Sisolak’s signing of Emergency Directive 048 state that
CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.
• Indoors: Universal mask use is recommended for all adults and students regardless of vaccination status. Children under 2 years of age should not wear a mask.
• Outdoors: In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors. However, particularly in areas of high transmission, such as during a school outbreak, those who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask if the outdoor setting is crowded or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people who are not fully vaccinate.
In a recent Las Vegas Review article the NIAA provides and update on the rules for facemasks for Nevada Athletics. And our own RGJ echos it here Preps: NIAA update:
With the state's recently reinstated a mask mandate for all indoor activities.
The only fall sport that will be played indoors is girls volleyball. Football is the only fall sports classified
as full and close contact.
Because of that, the NIAA will require weekly
testing for “non-fully-vaccinated team members, defined as
participants, coaches, associated staff, volunteers and others connected
directly with a team.”
In all other sports, non-fully-vaccinated
team members will be required to be tested if they are traveling out of
county to compete.
